Working for you in Bounds Green Learn more
I have lived in Haringey for most of my life and went to local schools in Hornsey and Muswell Hill. I’m of mixed parentage – my mother is Greek Cypriot and my father is Northern Irish.
After 20 years working as a manager of large IT projects, I decided to give up work to spend more time with my two children and to get involved with the local community. I am already a school governor and a trainee magistrate in Haringey. I care a lot about environmental issues and I’m an active member of our local sustainability group. Recently I’ve been involved in successful funding bids to put solar panels on Haringey schools and community buildings.
Now I want to achieve even more for local residents by representing Bounds Green on the Council. Bounds Green typifies what I like about Haringey: home to people from every corner of the earth, with lots of thriving small businesses and active community groups that cross all racial divides. Over the last year I’ve helped John Oakes and Ron Aitken campaign on a number of local issues, including re-opening the Wood Green police station front counter, and increasing security around Bowes Park Station.
Labour have run Haringey for nearly 40 years and residents deserve change. I want to use my skills, experience and energy to ensure that Bounds Green ward gets the local services that they need.
